DES MOINES -The Iowa Barnstormers (9-2) beat the Green Bay Blizzard (2-9) 41-14 Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
In the first quarter Iowa's quarterback Drew Powell made an 11-yard touchdown run, but the extra point was no good. Iowa's kicker Josh Gable made a 29-yard field goal. Iowa's Powell connected with wide receiver Brady Roland for the touchdown pass, but the extra point was no good. The Iowa Barnstormers led the Green Bay Blizzard at halftime 15-0.
In the second half, Iowa started strong when Powell found Roland in the end zone again for an Iowa touchdown, but the extra point was no good, 21-0. Green Bay's quarterback Bryan Hicks completed a touchdown pass to wide receiver Chris Malott, but the extra point was no good, 21-6. On the next Iowa drive Powell scored on a 26-yard touchdown run, but the PAT was no good, 27-6. Powell marched the ball in for a touchdown again on the next drive, 34-6. Iowa wide receiver Sheldon Augustine completed the pass from Powell for a touchdown, 41-6. Hicks completed a pass to wide receiver Zac Richardson for the Green Bay touchdown, and the two-point conversion was good, 41-14.
