DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers have re-signed defensive back Jeremy Gloston to the 2019 roster, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced today.
Gloston (6-2, 207, Elon University) joined the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season in 2018 after earning a contract at the team's open tryout. Gloston appeared in all 14 games during the regular season, where he collected 40.5 total tackles, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. Gloston contributed to the team's championship run and ultimate United Bowl victory, appearing in both the Conference Championship and the United Bowl Championship games.
Collegiately, Gloston played four years at Elon University beginning his career in 2013 as a true freshman where he appeared in 11 games. Gloston completed his career with the Phoenix with 105 tackles, three tackles for loss, four passes defended, and three blocked kicks.
"When Jeremy walked into our open tryout last year he was focused from the start. He tested great and was a physical player," said Coach Wooten. "The way he picked up the game his first year was big to me. I want him to come back and build from where he left off and continue to practice and play the way he did in the last half of the season."
